HAMILTON Rotary Club have agreed to distribute over £9000 to various charities this year. The main beneficiaries are:
Prostate Cancer Research; Rotary Foundation UK (Rotary UK’s international wing); Maggie’s Centre and Africa Hope.
Smaller sums have been donated to a variety of local organisations.
These include Scouts, Guides, Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades, Cruse Bereavement Care, Samaritans and others.
The club is also sponsoring a team of youth golfers from Hamilton Golf Club in a charity golf competition being held at Dundonald Links.
Proceeds from the competition will go to Rotary’s battle to finally rid the world of polio by boosting the mass immunisation programme directed to countries like Nigeria, India, Afghanistan and Pakistan, where the virus persists.
