Haven aims for double money

SUPPORTERS from The Haven are preparing for a four-mile walk in Strathclyde Park in an effort to raise funds.

Last year, the event managed to raise over £7000.

This year, the target is £15,000.

The walk is on Sunday, June 8 and will start at 10.15am.

The Haven, based in Blantyre, is a registered charity which provides holistic support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses including cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease.

The Haven provides a drop-in centre, where there is no need for referral.

Patients, carers, families and friends can receive advice, information and support, in a relaxed and welcoming environment, to help them cope with the physical, mental and spiritual effects of illness.

All their services are free and totally confidential.

Every penny raised from the walk goes directly to the charity.
