THIS week we publish more pictures from the successful David Cooper Soccer Sevens Tournament, held at the Palace Grounds in Hamilton.
A record number of youngsters competed in the event.
Over 370 primary school pupils from across Hamilton took part in the tourney, which was organised by Hamilton Sports Council.
South Lanarkshire Provost Russell Clearie presented awards to the boys, with MSP Christina McKelvie presenting the girls’ awards.
A total of 30 boys’ teams took part in the competition, with Hamilton’s St Mary’s Primary edging out Stonehouse Primary to take the title. The joint third-place finishers were David Livingstone Memorial and Chatelherault.
The girls tournament featured 12 teams and was won by Muiredge Primary, Uddingston.
Second place went to St Joseph’s Primary, Blantyre. Townhill Primary and Hamilton College were joint third. Photos by Andy Clinton.
