Stunning Lisa takes second prize at final

Lisa Ingram takes second prize at Miss Scotland final

LARKHALL beauty Lisa Ingram’s dreams of being crowned Miss Scotland were shattered after she narrowly missed out winning this year’s coveted prize.

The 24-year-old blonde stunner finished runner-up in Sunday’s glittering final held in Glasgow’s Princes Square.

Mhairi Brown, of The Fairways, Bothwell, was thrilled to have reached the final after she finished unplaced.

Former Hear’Say singer and Dancing On Ice star Suzanne Shaw, along with Real Radio’s Robin Galloway, hosted the beauty contest, won by stunning Stephanie Willemse from Glasgow’s Kings Park

As well as scooping a £10,000 winning cheque and top modelling contract, the 19-year-old will fly the flag for Scotland at the glamorous Miss World contest in Ukraine later this year.

Lisa, a former pupil at Glengowan Primary and Larkhall Academy, said she was proud to have finished second.

She added: “The first thing I thought when my name was read out was, ‘oh no, I’m not first.’

“But after the initial disappointment, I realised it was still a great achievement coming second after 2000 girls entered the competition.

“I would just like to say a huge
thank you to my friends and family
and everyone who helped me reach the finals.”

Lisa, who is 5ft 10ins tall, is now hoping to clinch some more modelling contracts following the competition.

She added: “I loved the experience more second time around.

“I was more relaxed because the last time the whole experience just passed me by. I just enjoyed every moment.

“I love being out on the catwalk and working.

“A 2000-strong audience were there cheering everyone on, and I just loved being part of that.

“I would like to congratulate Stephanie and I wish her all the best for her reign.”

Lisa, of Chestnut Grove, would like to thank the Hamilton Advertiser for supporting her; Dawn at Sunspray, Motherwell, Joyce Young, By Storm, Milngavie, and Nailzone.
