THE Scottish branch of the RAF Regiment Association are to hold a reunion later this year.
It will be held in the Queen’s Hotel, Dundee, on October 18.
Meetings of the branch are held throughout the year in the RBLC, Bathgate.
The RAF Regiment was formed in 1942 at the request of the then Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
The regiment were, and are, composed of field, infantry, squadrons, armoured car mobile squadrons, light ack ack squadrons, now missile squadrons, and paratroop squadrons. They are presently serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Thousands of men, many from Lanarkshire, served with the regiment and its veterans’ association exists to help the veterans and continue the friendships of former years. The Scottish branch of the RAF Regiment Association was formed in 1992.
