HISTORY specialists from Clydesdale are busy preparing for a big day in church next Wednesday.
Members of Lanarkshire’s only re-enactment group, Medieval Clydesdale, are helping Renfrewshire Council and Paisley Abbey launch a new guide to the famous building.
Throughout the day their re-enactors will be portraying medieval life to visitors at the Abbey.
Medieval Clydesdale are specialists in re-creating life in the days of the Vikings and medieval days of William Wallace.
The group, with their displays, tents and costumed re-enactors are in demand at events across Scotland, and even in Ireland.
They have worked for a number of castles and stately homes, as well as with Historic Scotland and the National Trust.
Some of their group (pictured above) recently joined with re-enactors from Ireland and Edinburgh to stage a display at Hamilton Park Racecourse to promote the Lanark medieval Festival in August.
And last weekend Medieval Clydesdale were at Traquair Castle taking part in a special history weekend at the oldest continuously inhabited castle in the British Isles.
The group are looking forward to next year having been asked to arrange a medieval event around a wedding.
