A LUCKY Hamilton woman this week won £2500 in our May £10,000 Cash Giveaway.
Jemima (Mima) Kilpatrick (49), who lives in Fairhill, submitted the winning entry on Monday morning to the Advertiser office by hand.
More than 762 readers tried to win the big cash prize.
Mima broke the news of her win to her son Donnie (27) who lives in Hamilton.
Donnie has just had a new baby daughter Lauren on April 24 with his partner Catherine.
Mima’s other son Paul (23), from Ashgill, was also delighted for his mum.
An excited Mima said: “After getting over the initial shock, I thought it was a wind-up, but it’s true.
“I haven’t worked out what I will do with the money yet but some of it will be spent on my new three-week-old grand daughter, I am taking her on a spending spree.
“I also plan to put some money away for her in the bank and she can have it when she is 18.”
Mima accepted the cheque for the £2500 prize on Wednesday morning.
Last week’s question: How many Bank Holiday Mondays are there in May? was answered correctly by Mima and her entry was chosen randomly by computer.
There’s still three other chances to win a £2500 chunk of the the Advertiser’s £10,000 May Cash Giveaway.
This week you could follow in Mima’s footsteps and be quids in.
The competition, designed to remove the burden of household bills like council tax, grocery bills, fuel bills or mortgage payments, is easy to enter. Just call or text your entry by midnight on Sunday, or by post no later than Monday’s first post.
You can also hand in your entry personally no later than 10am to the Advertiser office. Good luck!
