Choirs ready to hit high notes at final concert

FOLLOWING a successful orchestral performance last month, the series of concerts at St Mary’s Episcopal Church in Hamilton comes to a conclusion this Friday when the choirs of the church perform a programme of British works.

The main item is Parry’s Songs of Farewell, one of the great works in the choral repertory and a standard for many cathedral choirs.

In addition, the singers will perform a number of popular Tudor works in the atmospheric surroundings of the church, which was built in the town’s Auchingramont Road over 160 years ago.

Admission to the concert, which begins at 7.30pm, is by donation programme (£7/5/1) which includes refreshments. For further details, phone Ian Barcroft on 429895.
