YOUNGSTERS from Lanarkshire took their teddy bears to Strathclyde Park last Wednesday to take part in the annual St Andrew’s Hospice Teddy Bear Adventure.
Children from 90 schools and nurseries participated and they enjoyed sunshine, song and dance, magicians and plays performed by young actors from Stow College on four separate stage settings within the park.
Police cyclists and cadets were on hand to lend their support along with fire fighters from Strathclyde Fire and Rescue.
Kwik-Fit Financial Services in Uddingston were also represented. The Tannochside-based company sponsor the event each year.
St Andrew’s Hospice staff were delighted with the record turnout of 2981 children accompanied by 572 adults.
The Airdrie hospice’s fund-raising director, Sam Lavery, said: “This event continues to grow in size each year and the fantastic weather helped to make our 2008 Teddy Bear Adventure the biggest and best ever.
Our thanks go to everyone who contributed to this success.”
