Motherwell man jailed for assaulting woman
A MOTHERWELL man was this week jailed for six months for assaulting a woman.
Thirty-one-year-old Stephen McGhee, of Muirhouse Avenue, repeatedly kicked Stacey Blackwood on the body at an address in Bellshill Road, Motherwell, on July 12 last year.
The court then heard that McGhee then seized Blackwood’s hair, causing her to fall to the ground where she struck her head off a wall.
At the outset of the trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court, McGhee denied the assault. Sheriff Vincent Smith, however, found him guilty.
