POLICE were this week appealing for witnesses after a house was broken into in Forgewood, Motherwell.
The owner of the house, in Jimmy Sneddon Way, had not been home for several weeks but returned on April 26 to find property worth a four-figure sum stolen.
The following day three intruders were seen in the house. When challenged, all three left empty-handed.
The first is described as a woman aged 24, of thin build with fair, collar-length hair.
The second is male, 5ft 8ins tall with dark brown hair. He was wearing light grey trousers.
The third suspect was a woman aged 26, 5ft 7ins tall, stocky build, with shoulder-length dark brown hair. She was wearing a Celtic football top and tracksuit trousers.

MOTORISTS are being warned to take extra care when parking their cars. The advice comes after a car window was broken and satellite navigation system stolen in the car park of Wishaw General Hospital.
It happened between 9am and 1pm on April 27.
Constable Derek McWhinnie said: “I would advise all motorists to remove any items of value from their vehicles when unattended. This will deter opportunist thieves and make your car a less likely target.”

A MAN smashed the door to Claire’s Accessories in Brandon Parade South, Motherwell, at about 11.20pm on April 26.
He kicked the door repeatedly, causing the glass to break. He then walked off and entered a taxi, leaving the area. He was aged between 25-29, 5ft 10ins and of medium build. He had short, dark-brown hair and was wearing a white zipped jacket and jeans.

POLICE have arrested two men after several cars were broken into in the Wishaw area between April 28 and April 29.
One vehicle was stolen from Striven Crescent and later found burned out. A further three vehicles were broken into nearby.
The two men arrested are aged 21 and 27.
A GROUP of youths threw a bottle at a car travelling on the A725, near to the slip road at Bellziehill, at about 7.45pm on May 2.
The bottle was thrown at a black Vauxhall Vectra placing the driver and a child inside in danger.
The bottle struck the car and left a dent on it.
A group of about 15 youths were seen in a field near the road. They were aged between 14-17.

A TEENAGER stole a black handbag from a 77-year-old woman while inside her home at Belvidere Road, Bellshill.
Police say the thief pretended to be a friend of the woman and once inside her home stole a black leather handbag containing reading glasses and pens.
The incident took place at about 10.30pm on May 2.
The thief was aged 17-18, slim, with short black hair and was wearing a light blue T-shirt and jeans, carrying a blue plastic carrier bag.

EIGHT cars were vandalised in Holytown Road, Bellshill, between 10pm on May 3 and 10am the following day.
A silver Ford fiesta, silver Peugeot 307, a blue Ford Escort, a black Renault Clio, a blue Honda Civic, a red Fiat Punto, a red Peugeot 106 and a blue Vauxhall Vectra were all scored with a sharp instrument.
