YOUNGSTERS from Hamilton College have donated over £300 to Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.
For the last nine months, 24 S2 pupils left behind their books and took on roles in the world of business.
They took part in the S2 Entrepreneurs Club, which gave them experience in the world of business.
They formed their own company, HCEC, and sold heather plants in galvanised pots with the school’s Lindsay Tartan ribbon.
Persuasive sales teams were busy at break times, lunchtimes and school open and parents’ evenings, selling to fellow pupils, staff, parents and visitors.
Other products throughout the year included cards for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter, boxes and sparkly bags of chocolate hearts and long-stemmed roses, which also sold out quickly.
Pupils initially invested their own money into the company and at a meeting in February unanimously decided to donate all profits from HCEC to Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.
Louise Miles from The Yorkhill Children’s Foundation is pictured accepting a cheque for £356 from the youngsters.
