Hamilton theatre group's production benefits local charities

BIG-HEARTED fundraisers from Hamilton Operatic and Dramatic Club presented cheques totalling £5000 to six different charities.

The cash, presented to EK Youth Disability Sports Club, Growth Research Studies Yorkhill, Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust, Ward 15 Monklands Hospital Haematology/Oncology Unit, the Speech Therapy Unit at Monklands Hospital and Teenage Cancer Trust, was raised from the group’s production “Centre Stage”.

President Gordon Watson said: “Thanks to the generous support of our audiences, we were able to give a substantial amount to local charities.

“Without the support of our audiences we would not be able to do this.”

The club are putting the final touches to their production of “Crazy for You”.

The show runs in Hamilton Town House from Monday to Saturday of next week and tickets are still available for all nights.
