1st Hamilton BBs hold their annual display

THE 1st Hamilton Boys’ Brigade held their annual display on April 30 under inspecting officer Gilbert Cox MBE JP, Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire.

Guests on the evening included Company chaplain Rev. John Thomson, and John Neil OBE, honorary president of the Boys’ Brigade UK and Northern Ireland.

Awards were presented as follows: regular attendance — ptes Euan Clarke, Craig Horne, Nicholas Seaton and Ross Smart; Target 2 Badge and Target Completion Certificate — ptes Euan Hunter and Mark Paterson; Grade 1 Leadership and Physical Recreation — ptes Nicholas Seaton, Steven Seaton and Ross Smart; Grade 2 Leadership and Physical Recreation — ptes Euan Clarke, Grant Garrett and Craig Horne and l/cpl Scott Kelly.

Grade 3 Adventure and Physical Recreation — cpl Fraser Porteous; Junior Bible Challenge Trophy — ptes Fraser Ewart; Senior Bible (Miss Jamieson Trophy) — sgt David Craig; John Allan Trophy (most improved boy) — pte Nicholas Seaton; India Challenge Medal for General Efficiency — pte Ross Smart.

Mr and Mrs A. Harley Challenge Trophy (best squad) — Squad B (sgt Gary Seaton, cpl Fraser Porteous, ptes Craig Horne, Grant Garrett, Euan Clark, Nicholas Seaton and Mark Paterson); promotion to lance-corporal — Craig Horne; promotion to corporal — Scott Kelly; promotion to sergeant — Fraser Porteous.

The Lord Lieutenant also presented Queen’s Badges to Sgts David Craig and Gary Seaton.
