Women's aid groups receive funding boost

WOMEN’S aid groups in Hamilton and Clydesdale will benefit from increased funding agreed by the SNP Scottish Government.

Welcoming the news, Central Scotland MSP Christina McKelvie said: “The range of initiatives receiving funding firmly reflects all aspects of gender-based violence.

"Services include organisations that support women who have suffered rape or sexual assault, forced marriage, sexual exploitation, and young people affected by domestic abuse.

“This government is committed to eradicating all forms of violence against women.”
