Sectarian slogans chants are denied

A HAMILTON man this week denied chanting sectarian slogans outside a Catholic church in the town when he appeared at the town’s Sheriff Court.

John Logan (52), of Hall Street, allegedly shouted and waved his hand in an aggressive manner outside Our Lady and St Anne’s Church in Jack Street last Friday, April 25.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, Logan denied the charge of committing a breach of the peace.

Sheriff Vincent Smith set the trial for July, and granted Logan bail meantime.

A condition of bail is that Logan cannot go within 100 metres of St Anne’s Church.
