LANARKSHIRE people can bid to date their favourite celebrity, thanks to a unique new online dating charity auction website.

Rent a Date For Charity seeks to pair people with their perfect partner, but members can also bid to date TV personalities.

All cash raised will go to brain tumour charities in the UK and worldwide.

Founder Lisa Connell (28), was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in August, 2006, and since then made it her goal to raise £1m and also raise awareness of the condition.

In six months she raised £12,000, with celebs such as Cheryl Baker, Big Brother’s Orlaith McAllister and Donatella Panayiotou enjoying dinner dates with their fans.
