YOUNG filmmakers from across South Lanarkshire showed off their talents by scripting, filming, starring in, editing and producing four of their own short films.
They attended a premiere of the films recently at the Odeon Cinema in East Kilbride and also attended the Youth Opportunities in Documentary, Drama and Animation (YODDA) awards following the screening.
Hamilton Universal Connections, Lanark’s Stanmore House School, Lanark Universal Connections and Rutherglen Universal Connections were the four groups involved in the project.
Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s education resources committee, councillor Mary Smith, said: “Congratulations must go to all youngsters who have been involved in this project.
“I’m sure the majority of the young people who took part will be keen to be involved in similar projects, and who knows the next Steven Speilberg may well be right on our doorstep in South Lanarkshire.”
