TINTO Primary School at Symington is to be the new home for primary children from a wide area of the Upper Ward.
South Lanarkshire Council are to bus children from neighbouring schools to temporary classrooms at Symington.
The decant is being carried out while primary schools in the area are being rebuilt.
Councillors have decided that since it is impossible to keep youngsters at their own school during a rebuild they will, in future, be moved to temporary classrooms being built at Tinto Primary School.
Bovis Lend Lease Ltd have now applied to South Lanarkshire Council for planning permission to erect the temporary classrooms, along with car parking and landscaping.
And Morgan Ashurst have also applied for planning permission to demolish the existing Douglas Primary School and replace it with a new school and upgraded access, car parking, landscaping and upgraded sports pitch.
Councillors are also being asked to approve plans for a new house and farm shop linked to a deer farm near Lanark.
Mr Mr W. Cruickshank (Jnr) wants to carry out the development at Upper Muirhouse,Cleghorn.
These plans are among a large number of development proposals which have been lodged with planners at South Lanarkshire Council's Lanark offices recently.
