Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to be filmed in Lanarkshire?

THE LAST Harry Potter movie will be filmed in Strathclyde Park, it was claimed today.

A source close to the project revealed to the Hamilton Advertiser Online that the entire movie could be shot on-location here in Lanarkshire.

Possible plans for the park include building replicas of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the Lair of the Death-eaters (previously unheard of and new to the movie).

The park would be closed to the public for three months when filming begins as hoped on April 1, 2009.

The source said: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows could be filmed in Strathclyde Park, Lanarkshire.

“Pre-production is already heavily underway, with most of the planning already finalised.

“We think it’d be a great location to film the last of J.K. Rowling’s fantastic tales.”

The source also revealed that the casting director will consider using several youngsters could fill several roles created specifically for the movie.

He said: “We’d be approaching local schools for youngsters if were to film in Lanarkshire.”

In another shock to Potter fans the source suggested that the movie’s ending will be completely different from the book’s, stating that the new ending will leave film more open ended and open up further opportunities to film at locations like Chatelherault Park, the Mausoleum and the County Buildings.
