Final phase of business park gets underway

WORK on the final building in the £33million Hamilton International Park’s phase two expansion plans got underway last week.

Tom McCabe, MSP for Hamilton South, attended the sod cutting ceremony to officially launch the 80,000square foot Ochil House.

He said: “This is a significant development for the area and I am pleased to be here to officially mark the commencement of the construction work.

“In addition to the creation of several thousand jobs, the expansion of the business park has helped boost the local economy and I’m sure there will be no shortage of interest in the latest offering from Hamilton International Park.”

When the project is completed in 2009, the four-storey Ochil House will be the largest building at the Park, standing at 80,416sq ft.

Recent investment at the Park has included the development of a new £5.25m retail parade, the addition of the new-build 24,000 sq ft Fenick House and 39,000 sq ft Fintry House, and the provision of free bus travel for park tenants.
