Learning a lesson in safety

PUPILS from primary schools across North Lanarkshire will be taking time out to learn a life lesson on safety at annual event.

The NL Kidz event at Strathclyde Park will run until March 23, where children will be invited along to a series of presentations and interactive workshps based around safety.

Bullying, home safety, the dangers of knife crime, fire safety, and drug and alcohol misuse, are just some of the issues highlighted in the sessions delivered by local organisations and in partnership with Strathclyde Police.

The initiative, which is specially designed to help the young participants develop life skills, also endorses good citizenship by encouraging youngsters to interact with pupils from other schools and areas and promoting inclusion for all, regardless of race, colour or ability.

Pupils are given workbooks based around safety so that their education continues.
