HAMILTON Water Palace has re-opened following a scare of Legionnaire’s Disease.
The Hamilton Advertiser reported previously that the leisure centre was shut on Tuesday, February 12, after a man contracted the life-threatening disease.
The centre was due to re-open on Wednesday, but remained closed due to a pressure problem not connected with the scare.
A South Lanarkshire spokesperson said: "The facility was due to reopen on Wednesday, February 13, but due to an air blockage causing a water pressure problem, staff were unable to get the system back up and running.
"Health and safety regulations have been fully complied with, a new pump has now been fitted and the problem solved.
"We are awaiting final results of tests which were made to the domestic hot water system earlier this week. Initial indications show no link to the person who was ill.
"South Lanarkshire Leisure Ltd is happy to welcome back all our customers and apologise for the inconvenience caused."
