CHILDREN and adults alike had a great time at a recent fun night at an Uddingston Primary School.

Attractions at the Aitkenhead Primary School event included hit the teacher with a sponge, beat the goalie, raffles, tombola, badge-making and face painting.

Strathclyde Fire Brigade, the British Red Cross and Strathclyde Police’s dog branch gave demonstrations. The force’s helicopter also hovered above for the event’s opening.

Parent Council member Susan McCartney said the fun night, which raised £3000 for school funds, had been a great success.

She added: “The weather was on our side and everyone had a great time.
