UDDINGSTON Pride members were making last-minute preparations before Beautiful Scotland competition judges visit the village next week.
They were tidying up the village's Main Street this week in advance of the visit, which is set to commence at 10.30am on Tuesday, August 5, at Uddingston station.
The village is an entrant in Beautiful Scotland's urban community category.
Alex Stephen, of Uddingston Pride, said: "The village is being spruced up for the visit, but what really made the work done by the members all worthwhile was the encouraging comments received from residents during a clean-up evening.
"And we are especially grateful for the donation of £40 made by one young man who thanked us for our work in enhancing the village.
"We hope residents will all make a contribution by tidying up their immediate area, and ensuring the place looks at its best on the day the judges arrive.
"We will be doing more work on Monday evening and anyone is welcome to join us."
Those who wish to help the group with the clean up can contact Mr Stephen on 07715 542060.
