BLANTYRE’S Terminal One are on the lookout for budding actors and singers, as well as studio technicians, cameramen and sound engineers as part of this year’s Summerscene programme for young people.
To take part in the Interactive Arts Summerscene, young people must complete an enrolment form which is available at Terminal One, Tact Hall and Hillhouse Community Centre.
This week saw singing lessons take place. These will run until tomorrow (Friday) from noon until 4pm.
The basics of sound recording in a studio environment will also be on offer next week from noon to 3pm daily.
Make-up and Monsters are available later in the month, July 20 to July 24, with teenagers being taught techniques of the film and television make-up artist. Workshops include how to create cuts, grazes, open wounds, bald caps and ugly monstrous creatures.
After the film club’s successful Dawn Of The Dead adaptation last year, young people will be able to take part in this year’s recreation of The Adams Family, incorporating acting tuition, techniques on how to shoot the film and how to capture and create the soundtrack. The club culminates in a showing of the film on July 31. Call David at Terminal One on 01698 829455 for information.
