Probation for driver who acted indecently sitting in his vehicle

A BLANTYRE man who committed two acts of public indecency while sitting in his car has been put on probation.

Alan Smith (24), of Auchinraith Road, admitted committing the crimes in the car park of the Dakota Hotel, Mossend, on December 12 last year and on the A725 Hamilton Road near the Raith Interchange on December 19.

His not guilty plea to committing another act of public indecency in the Palace Grounds, Hamilton, on January 17 of this year was accepted by the procurator fiscal.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court, Sheriff Marie Smart sentenced Smith to three years’ probation and placed him on the sex offenders’ register.
