Churchgoers pitch their tents at National Gathering in Ingliston

MEMBERS of two churches in Hamilton and one in Blantyre will be pitching their tents at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston this weekend as they take part in the National Gathering.

The event is part of the Church Without Walls movement, which aims to encourage church leaders and members to meet new challenges.

Members from Quarter Parish Church, St. John’s Parish Church and Blantyre’s St. Andrew’s Parish Church are getting ready for the event.

After the weekend, the 500 tents which are to be used will be donated to Blythswood Care and Scottish International Relief for use in relief efforts around the world.

Rev. Peter Johnston, of St. Andrew’s Parish Church, said: “It is exciting to be part of the National Gathering. We are looking forward to sharing the work we are doing.”
