John Ogilvie pupils are on the ball for charity

Footballers from John Ogilvie High

PUPILS from John Ogilvie High School in Burnbank hosted a charity football tournament to raise money for their twin school in Sierra Leone.

The event, held last Friday at Hamilton Palace Grounds, was attended by over 200 pupils and raised about £400 for St Joseph’s in impoverished in the African country.

PE Teacher Diane McGeachie was involved in the organisation of the event.

She said: “This is an annual tournament for the school and we are particularly grateful to Hamilton Palace Grounds for giving the venue free of charge.

“This allowed all the takings to go to St Joseph’s.”
