Easter egg collection a success

JOSEPH Potts and Smith’s Funeral Directors in Blantyre were delighted with the response to their Easter egg collection.

People and churches from the Blantyre and Hamilton districts pulled together and, for six weeks prior to Easter, collected a total of 405 eggs for distribution to children’s projects in the community.

Community manager of Potts, Jack Leggate, said: “We have been running this annual event for four years and were astounded with the total this year.

“We would like to thank all the people who donated eggs and to the local churches who collected eggs on our behalf.”

The chocolate Easter eggs were given to Craighead School, Women’s Aid, The Lone Parent Project, Hamilton; nine children’s units in Lanarkshire, Burnbank Family Centre, Victoria Nursing Home, and three toddlers groups based in Blantyre.
