Meanwhile, police have stepped up their hunt for the killers of Brian McQueen.
He was knifed in Hardie Street as he walked home with a dog from his girlfriend’s home in Small Crescent on Wednesday, February 13, at 10pm.
Four men are believed to have jumped out of a black Ford Focus and launched a frenzied attack. They then fled in a car.
Police made a number of appeals for witnesses following McQueen’s death.
Officers quizzed 100 people when they stopped cars and passers-by in Hardie Street on Wednesday, February 20.
Police also issued an appeal for help in tracing a black Ford Focus, registration YT03 VZS, that may have been used in the 37-year-old’s murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Welsh, who is leading the investigation, said yesterday (Wednesday): “There has been a positive response from members of the public in Blantyre and we are making definite progress with our enquiries.
“We are still looking for information on the wherabouts of the black Ford Focus.
