Public meeting to discuss racism

THIS Sunday, Solidarity will hold a public meeting in Blantyre on the issues of racism and islamophobia.

This forum is the third in a series of meetings being organised across Scotland by the political party.

It will take place on at 1pm on Sunday, March 30 at Blantyre Miners Welfare in Calder Street.

The speaker will be Graham Campbell of the African Caribbean Network.

Ray Gunnion, Central Regional Secretary of Solidarity, said: “This issue should be one of relevance and importance to the people of Lanarkshire who have witnessed a growth in our ethnic minority communities over the recent past.

“In the interests of harmony and better understanding, it is crucial that we provide a forum within which a dialogue can take place.”
