Housing association building bridges for children’s hospice

A HOUSING association has thanked High Blantyre tenants for helping deliver a bumper cash boost to a children’s charity.

Tenants at Trust Housing Association’s housing complex at Hunthill Road took part in a fundraising day for children’s hospice charity CHAS.

Now CHAS will receive at least £2000 raised in just one day and organised by the Trust’s staff.

Staff and tenants undertook a variety of sponsored events including bringing a pound to work, doing the ironing, a car wash and manicures.

Home baking, special fun calendars featuring mugshots of the staff, tombola and a raffle helped boost the total further.

The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland is committed to providing children’s hospice services by working with youngsters who have life limiting conditions and their families.

A spokesman for Trust Housing Association said: “We’re delighted with the total.

“Everyone worked very hard.”
