JOHN Ogilvie High School in Hamilton has made it through to the national semi-finals of the Victim Support Scotland (VSS) Schools Public Speaking competition.
The competition, which has a £10,000 first prize in both primary and secondary categories is open to all Scottish schools and is jointly sponsored by Reliance Security Group and Bank of Scotland Corporate.
John Ogilvie will take part in the secondary semi-final being held in Coatbridge on Thursday, April 23.
The competing regions are: North Lanarkshire, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, East Ayrshire, Dundee, Glasgow, Shetland and Aberdeenshire.
The primary semi-final is at 10am in Committee Room 1, North Lanarkshire Council, Kildonan Street, Coatbridge, Wednesday, April 22.
The competing regions are: Dunbartonshire, Falkirk, Borders, East Renfrewshire, North Lanarkshire, South Ayrshire, North Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Argyll and Bute and Aberdeenshire.
The national final will be staged in the City Chambers, Glasgow, on Thursday, May 28 at 2pm.
