Galleries' donation recognises Rascals' fantastic work for pre-school children

RASCALS Community Nursery have received a generous £500 share of the £10,000 Buchanan Galleries Shopping Centre’s Community Bursary Fund.

A total of 19 groups across West Central Scotland received a share of the fund which aims to support organisations that make a vital difference to the people in their area.

The donations helps them to pay for materials and services they might otherwise be unable to afford.

Applicants were encouraged to illustrate how their organisation benefits the local community and in what way the extra funding would aid their work.

Susan Whyte from Rascals Community Nursery said: “We are thrilled to have received this generous cheque for £500 from Buchanan Galleries Community Bursary Fund.

“Rascals rely heavily on funding to maintain the facility, and the donation will enable us to continue with our very successful reading initiative and further improve the services we provide.”

Hamish Millar, general manager at Buchanan Galleries, added: “We were delighted to be able to present Rascals Community Nursery with a cheque for £500.

“The group pushes hard to maintain an excellent standard of education and care for pre-school children, and we hope that our donation will help continue this high level of care.”
