Academy looks back on a year of achievement

Here are a few of the pupils’ recent achievements.

In groups, pupils created an overall product or service that supported the seven Olympic and Paralympic values.

They produced an idea sheet, competitors’ outline and financial plan.

The winning entry of chariot designz was submitted to the national competition.

MONEY has been rolling in for St Andrew’s Hospice ever since the staff and pupils of Strathaven Academy took part in the charity’s school challenge.

A team of 30 pupils from S5 and S6, 14 staff members, and three guests either walked, jogged or ran the 6K course around Strathclyde Park.

They joined with 1300 others from schools across Lanarkshire to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.

The weather on the day turned out to be ideal for the challenge and the team looked very sporty in their BARU-sponsored T-shirts.

A cheque for a whopping £1800 raised by the school was handed over to the hospice.
