Pupils welcome special lessons in Scots

WESTER Overton Primary School pupils enjoyed a performance of ‘A Moose In The Hoose’.

‘A Moose In The Hoose’, is the new production devised by Sonsie Music and is specially written for lower primary pupils.

The performance is based on ‘A Scots Counting Book’ by James Robertson and Matthew Fitt, and illustrated by Karen Sutherland.

This project was organised and funded through South Lanarkshire Councils Arts Network Team.

Throughout the performance the children learned about Scots words for numbers and animals in a traditional-style storytime reading with many musical elements.

The Cultural Co-ordinator in schools project supports and organises many events such as this, encouraging pupils from three to 18 years to participate in many diverse cultural activities.
