ST Elizabeth’s Primary pupils last week sent 120 boxes filled with toys, books and school stationery to kids in Africa.
It was part of a campaign run by Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child and Mary’s Meals.
Their aim is to feed children a meal a day, and provide them with the resources to gain a basic education.
The boxes are due to be transported to Malawi in time for Christmas.
Christine Emmett of St Elizabeth’s said: “This project forms part of St Elizabeth’s agenda to encourage sustainability, global care, concern and citizenship.
“The boxes and bags encouraged our children to recycle, as many of the boxes had contained toys and books.”
