NINE children at Abington Primary School have successfully completed a Bike Skills Course organised by the Abington Parent Council at the after-school club.
Coached by Rik, from Riks Bike Shed at Drumlanrig Castle, the pupils completed an eight-week course based on bike safety and cycle skills.
They learned a wide range of skills starting with a bike and helmet check, safe mount and dismount techniques, right through to mastering chicanes, limbo riding and also tackled riding as a group.
All of the children involved really enjoyed the course and received a certificate on their final day.
The parent-council organised an Olympic quiz and the their thanks go to Heather the quizmaster.
The event raised £71 and was won by Aileen Carruthers. Alan from the Crawford shop also received a special commendation for his attention to detail and sporting prowess.
