ACTORS took centre stage at Larkhall Academy last week in a bid to raise with pupils greater awareness of mental health issues.
South Lanarkshire Council hosted a drama production called ‘Talk To Me’.
It was staged before fifth-year pupils at the Academy last Wednesday afternoon.
This is a drama piece seeks to highlight prevalent mental health issues, the attitudes of others to mental health issues and how they may be addressed with family, friends and others in the community.
Two performances, which lasted up to an hour, took place at the school.
Each performance was followed by groups of 10 to 15 pupils discussing issues raised in the performance about mental health.
The production was performed by a group called Solar Bear and led by Gerry Ramage.
About 20 young people are involved in the drama group coming from all over the South Lanarkshire area.
Pupils and cast members are pictured talking about mental health issues in the auditorium at Larkhall Academy following the special drama.
