Course on music journalism to start in Hamilton

IF you are 16-25 years old and love music, then Hamilton Information Project For Youth would like to hear from you.

Young people are invited to go along to an open nightat the HIPY office tonight (Thursday) at 6pm to find out more about the launch of a new music journalism project.

The project aims to provide young people with opportunities to learn journalism, multi-media and photography skills.

Participants will be involved in sourcing and profiling local bands, reviewing CDs and going to gigs, writing content for web pages and the local press and digital photography. The project will run on a weekly basis, initially for six weeks, and thereafter will run for 14 weeks in the New Year.

Gillian McCahon from HIPY said: "We would like to hear from young people with a wide range of musical tastes."
