A TEAM from Strathaven Academy have won the annual South Lanarkshire heat of the Enterprising Mathematics in Scotland competition.
Schools entered teams of four pupils from third and fourth year.
Strathaven Academy’s winning team comprised Harris Douglas and Jill Naismith, both third-year pupils, and Laura Danskin and Euan Paterson, who are both in fourth year.
The teams tackled difficult problem-based questions and at the end of four nail-biting rounds, the Strathaven pupils took first prize. The pupils collected the James McCue Memorial Shield and will now represent South Lanarkshire in the national finals.
