Pupils show a healthy interest

PUPILS who attend St Patrick’s Primary School, Strathaven, took part in an Active Schools initiative jointly organised by South Lanarkshire Council and school staff.

Children from P1 - P7 enjoyed healthy eating and exercise on their ‘Focus on Fitness’ day which took place on Thursday, September 25.

The children had many timetabled events which included aerobics, street dance, fitness testing, basketball, circuit training, potted sports, and massage. They also went one step further and organised a healthy tuck shop, selling fruit smoothies and fruit kebabs.

A school spokesman said: “The pupils came to school in their sports gear and at the end of the day, felt fitter and healthier for their efforts.

“The pupils and staff who participated look forward to doing it all again next term.”
