Chatelherault kids boost funds with a race in the skies

CHATELHERAULT Primary’s funds received a boost this week following the success of their balloon race.

Four hundred balloons were released and prizes will be awarded to the finders of the two which travel the furthest.

All materials used were biodegradable and the balloons themselves biodegrade at the same rate as an oak leaf.

Headteacher Dianne Lynas said: “Our parent council, which was formed in 2007, have been meeting regularly and we are enjoying a productive working relationship.

“The parent council worked closely with the eco committee which was set up to ensure the school does all it can to be as eco-friendly as possible. I’m delighted with the success of the event and thank all the parents and pupils who took part.”

Thanks go to Birthdays in Hamilton, Frank B Craig Electricals and the Carlton George Hotel, Glasgow, for their donations. The money raised will be used to pay for the entire school to see the pantomime ‘Cosmic Crew’ in January.
