TWO pipers were this week praised for entertaining school children with their music during a visit to Seclin in France.
Larkhall Academy pupil Douglas Baxter along with his colleague Steven Jewkes, a student at Stow College, Glasgow, donned their kilts and played the bagpipes to youngsters at a school in the French village.
The Larkhall lads were also invited to take part in a music concert in Seclin where they again delighted the crowds with their skills on the pipes.
They were part of a group from Larkhall Twinning Association who made the trip to France.
Lorna Brodie, vice-chairman of the twinning group, said: “Their performances were very well received by the local people.
“Both young men enjoyed the warm hospitality that was given to them.”
Lorna added that the latest twinning visit again proved to be very popular and extremely enjoyable and has further strengthened the friendship links between Larkhall and Seclin.
