Pupils snap up two golfing awards

STUDENTS from Clydesdale schools showed they were big hitters when it comes to golf.

For they won two of the three main awards in South Lanarkshire Leisure's annual Schools Golf Festival at Hollandbush Golf Course.

The individual competition for single figure handicap players was keenly contested by 23 players.

The winners were:

Boys Scratch - Greg Anderson Calderglen High School. (Score 73)

Boys Handicap - Mark Allan, Lanark Grammar School. (Score 70)

Girls Handicap - Kirstie McLeod, Lesmahagow High School. (Score 74)

Fifteen teams took part in the Texas scramble competition for higher and non - handicap players and staff.

Represented by Ross Williamson, Adam Taylor, Andrew Morris and Moray Meechan, Calderglen High School took the honours for the scramble though it was a close run competition with Lesmahagow High School's A and B teams in second and third places.
