Summer school for fans of film

FPS MEDIA are currently recruiting budding young filmmakers for their Summer Screen School 2008 programme.

The project teaches young people all there is to know about filmmaking, enabling them to script, direct and produce their very own short film — all in the space of one week.

Funded by South Lanarkshire Council, the programme runs during July and August and is held at fps media’s base in Motherwell.

Summer Screen School is free and open to young people aged 13 to 18 who attend school in South Lanarkshire.

At the end of the programme, a glitzy film premiere is held at The Vue Cinema, Hamilton.

This allows the filmmakers to see their films on the big screen and they are presented with a commemorative DVD and certificate of achievement.
