PUPILS at Calderside Academy have taken part in a number of pursuits recently.
Youngsters from S1 to S6, along with children in Additional Support Needs, have enjoyed a variety of excursions to “Doctor Dolittle”, “Dancing in the Streets” and “Shout” with the music department.
The visits were part of the school’s programme of theatre excursions.
Some senior pupils also attended a concert by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in Glasgow.
In other school news Catherine and Victoria Stuart, who are S3 pupils at Calderside, were selected to represent South Lanarkshire at a recent football tournament at Firhill Sports Complex in Glasgow.
Fellow S3 Paul Henry swam in the physically disabled gala, which was held in East Kilbride.
He was presented with a certificate by Margaret Morris, Head Teacher of Calderside Academy, at a school assembly.
Meanwhile, 31 pupils at the school also took part in World Maths Day.
Keiran Bell achieved the highest score of 36, while Andrew Hutcheson had the highest improvement rate.
