BIG-HEARTED senior pupils from Hamilton College walked to school from Crossford recently to raise cash for their trip to Burkina Faso, Africa.

The pupils walked the 13 miles in the rain, stopping off for breakfast on the way, and then spent the day in classes.

Ten sixth-year students of Hamilton College, along with two teachers and additional representatives, are embarking on a two-week goodwill trip to Burkina Faso on July 8 for two weeks. The trip is in association with Tearfund and the youngsters hopes to provide some relief to disadvantaged communities.

The Hamilton College team will be staying in Ouagadougou in the most basic of accommodation and will be transported to outlying communities throughout the trip.

Aid will involve the planting of trees, improving schools and providing activities for the children.
