THIS week’s Class Acts are two Junior Six classes at Hamilton College.
The youngsters were nominated by their teachers Susan Ogilvie J6A and Karen Steel J6B.
At the college the classes were, yesterday (Wednesday), involved in reminding world leaders of their promise that by 2015 every child of primary school age in the world would receive an education as part of a global campaign for education.
The children joined others across the world yesterday to present “The World’s Biggest Lesson” to echo their views.
Each pupil was given a reminder card to fill in and decorate expressing why they believe education is important and these cards will be displayed in school before being sent to Gordon Brown before this year’s G8 summit in July. To encourage the pupils to take a personal interest in the plight of others, college teachers Lockhart Geddes, Susan Ogilvie and Karen Steel asked the children to make presentations to the others in their classes.
